Which Watering Timer Is Right For You?

1) Keep your garden timer out of the direct sunlight. No matter how good the quality, over time your garden timer casing will become brittle and break down.

2) Try and purchase a garden timer that will adequately cover your current needs plus maybe 20%. Unless you plan on a radical landscape design change then there would be no reason to get the most expensive or most complex just for the sake of it.

3) Attempt to have a look at the programming instructions prior to purchase if it is an automatic watering timer. There is a large difference in the usability between some models. Try and find a timer that is intuitive.

4) Avoid buying the cheapest watering timer to save money, when was the last time you purchased the cheapest anything and were happy with the result?

5) Match your fittings, fixtures and hoses to the quality of the water timer. Balance is important. Spending a fortune on a good quality water timer and then getting the cheapest fixtures and fittings will give a poor result.
